Historical character with a whimsical fashion twist
This private residence is in a classic Edwardian Conrad Muessdorffer apartment building on the top floor overlooking San Francisco. The client, a former Hollywood fashion stylist, wanted a bedroom that “felt like a French perfume ad…” The apartment is a jewel box and needed to reflect her love of whimsy, color, an immense art collection, and her European ties. The foyer cheekily greets you by way of painted trompe l’oiel tent stripes in a fresh persimmon color. Like a perfume ad might suggest, the bedroom was purposefully transformed with classic ballgown-esque silk fabrics and imported fringe trim. The lush, double-faced duchess silk satin in sensual grey and delicate green surrounds the windows and envelops the bed canopy.
