When my client invited me to design her home office, she didn’t just want a place to work—she wanted a space that inspired her. And inspiration? It walked right through the door in the form of two fanciful stools, upholstered in a whimsical Chinoiserie print. Bold, charming, and full of character—just like her.

I’ve never been one for sterile “office” spaces. Your home office should feel like you: collected, comfortable, and creatively charged. For this powerhouse IT exec turned empty nester, we imagined something layered and luxe—a space for deep focus, Zoom calls, and moments of escape between meetings.

Enter Farrow & Ball’s “Railings”—a deep, sultry blue-black that now washes over the walls and ceiling, cocooning the room in sophistication. To add a punch of personality, we painted the tucked-away nook in vibrant orangish-red and creamy stripes, giving the space rhythm, warmth, and just the right amount of drama.

The pièce de résistance? Her Chinoiserie cabinet now anchors the room, surrounded by her curated collection of art, books, and objets that tell her story.

The final vibe? CEO energy with a splash of cocktail hour chic. Who says work can’t happen in a room that makes you feel amazing?
